On a semester basis and on a first come - first serve basis, Millennia Atlantic University offers limited merit and/or need based partial scholarships to students who qualify and complete an interview and application process.

Puro Maza Academic Scholarship

The Puro Maza Academic Scholarship is available for qualifying bachelor and master level students, and is a partial scholarship based on merit and need. This scholarship provides an award of twenty-five percent (25%) of tuition charges incurred by a qualifying bachelor level or master level students for the semester.

In order to qualify the student must be a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters, maintaining a course load of 12 to 15 semester credit hours at the bachelor’s level or 9 to 12 semester credit hours at the master’s level with a current minimum CGPA of 3.0. Applicants for this scholarship must also have already successfully completed at least one semester at MAU, with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours completed over a spring or fall semester, or 9 semester credit hours over a summer term at the undergraduate level; or at the graduate level have completed 9 semester credit hours over a spring or fall semester, or 6 credits over a summer semester to qualify.

To apply, a qualifying student must provide two letters of recommendation from a combination of former high school or other postsecondary institution faculty members, advisors or employers. The student must also provide documentation supporting the need for financial assistance through the completion of certain forms providing income and expense data available from Student Services, and also provide backup documentation of financial need as outlined specifically within the application forms. Lastly, the student must prepare and submit an autobiographical essay which details previous education and employment experience, his or her home situation, transportation issues, employment status and career goals.

In order to maintain the scholarship, a student must: continue his or her enrollment as a full-time student during the spring and fall semesters; maintain a 3.2 CGPA at the undergraduate level or a CGPA of 3.3 at the graduate level; meet SAP standards; remain in good financial standing with any fees and tuition costs not covered by the scholarship; and strictly adhere to all campus rules and policies. An exception to the fulltime requirement may be made if a student is enrolled in his or her final semester, and the semester hours required to complete the degree program fall below the full time minimum course load.

Millennial Scholarship for Master’s Level Latin American and Caribbean Students:

On a semester basis, Millennia Atlantic University offers limited merit based partial scholarships to qualified master’s level students who are residents of Latin America or a Caribbean country. This scholarship provides an award of fifty percent (50%) of the cost of tuition towards a qualifying student’s total tuition charges for the semester. In order to qualify, the applicant must be an international student holding a current F-1 Visa with MAU.

To apply, a student must provide proof of residency from his or her country of origin within Latin America or the Caribbean through presentation of an official and current passport from the appropriate authorities of the issuing country. Additionally, the student must establish that he or she has completed a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent with a CGPA minimum of 3.1 from a postsecondary institution. This can be proved through the delivery of an original or certified sealed copy of his or her transcript, and an official credential evaluation completed and submitted to the University by a recognized evaluation service. All such evidence must be accompanied by a certified translation into English if the documents were originally created in a language other than English.

The student must also submit two (2) letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a postsecondary institution faculty member or advisor, and the second letter should be from an employer, supervisor or business associate. Lastly, the student must submit an autobiographical essay which details previous education, employment experience, and future professional goals; or, one that discusses the student’s definition of a successful career, what matters most in his or her educational program and which describes with detail plans for the graduate degree from the University.

In order to maintain the scholarship if awarded, during the spring and fall semesters, the student must remain enrolled as a full-time student, maintaining a course load of 9 to 12 semester credit hours at the master’s level with a minimum CGPA of 3.5, meet SAP standards of the University, remain in good financial standing with regard to any fees and tuition costs not covered by the scholarship, and strictly adhere to all other rules and policies of the University.

Emilia Tirado Scholarship for Starting Undergraduate Students

The Emilia Tirado Scholarship is a partial merit based scholarship for first-time MAU undergraduate students. This scholarship provides an award of forty percent (40%) of the cost of tuition towards a qualifying student’s total tuition charges for the semester.

To apply, the student must establish that he or she has completed high school or an associate degree or the equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.9. This can be proved through the delivery of an original or certified sealed copy of his or her transcript. If the degree is from an institution outside the U.S., the transcripts should be accompanied by a completed official credential evaluation submitted to the University by a recognized evaluation service. All such evidence must be supplemented with a certified translation into English if the documents were originally created in a language other than English.

The student must also submit two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty members, former teachers, advisors or employers. Lastly, the student must submit an essay which explains why MAU should grant the scholarship to the applicant.

In order to maintain the scholarship if awarded, the student must remain enrolled as a full-time student during the spring and fall semesters with a course load of 12 to 15 semester credit hours, maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.1, meet SAP standards of the University, remain in good financial standing with regard to any fees and tuition costs not covered by the scholarship, and strictly adhere to all other rules and policies of the University.

To apply, the student must establish that he or she has completed bachelor’s degree or the equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.9. This can be proved through the delivery of an original or certified sealed copy of his or her transcript. If the degree was obtained from an institution outside of the U.S., the transcript should be accompanied by an official credential evaluation completed and submitted to the University by a recognized evaluation service. All such evidence must be supplemented with a certified translation into English if the documents were originally created in a language other than English.

The student must also submit two (2) letters of recommendation. One must be from a previous faculty member, former teacher or advisor. The second letter must be from a previous employer, supervisor or business associate. Lastly, the student must submit an essay which details previous education, future goals and why MAU should grant a scholarship to the applicant.

All scholarship applications are subject to a formal review, evaluation and decision by an assigned committee of Board members. Decisions rendered and communicated to students are final. Recipients may only be awarded one of these scholarships per semester.
