Ceremony Planned to Celebrate Accomplishments of MAU Graduates

Author and business leader Rodrigo Azpurua to deliver commencement address


Doral, Fla. — Millennia Atlantic University will honor the graduating class of 2022 at its commencement ceremony on Saturday, July 23 at the InterContinental at Doral Miami Hotel at 10 a.m.

Valedictorian Sebastian Medina Zalzman earned his MBA with a 3.97 GPA and will be the student speaker for the event. Virgilio Jose Marquez Rodriguez, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, has been named MAU’s honor student. The faculty speaker will be Juan Ramirez, D. Ed, whose primary areas of instruction are organization and leadership, business administration, and international business.

“I have really valued my time at MAU,” said Zalzman, an international student from Venezuela. “The university has created a welcoming environment for a diverse student body to learn and grow, and the global expertise of the faculty has prepared me to confidently enter the business world and forge a meaningful career path for myself.”

The commencement address will be delivered by Rodrigo Azpurua, author of two books and President/CEO of investment and development firm Riviera Point. As a real estate developer, he has been responsible for the acquisition, design, financing, and construction of more than 1.4 million square feet of commercial property throughout Florida.

“I remember what it was like starting out,” said Azpurua, who was named “Creative Dealmaker of the Year” in 2015 by the South Florida chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. “These students have been well-equipped by Millennia Atlantic University to make the most of the opportunities that will be available to them. I look forward to seeing what they accomplish, and I am pleased to be sharing their graduation day with them.”

The ceremony will recognize MAU’s 58 graduates, 15 of them earning their undergraduate degrees and 43 earning graduate degrees.

“Our graduates have earned extensive real-world knowledge of new information and technologies that will serve them well as they enter the global business arena,” noted MAU President Dr. Aristides Maza Duerto. “They have demonstrated a strong commitment to their education and to their future career success, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with them.”
