A Collaboration and Culture Event



Doral, Florida – August 16, 2023* – The close relationship between the cities of Doral and Barranquilla is cause for celebration in an emotional gathering that marks eight years of brotherhood. In this article, we explain the details of this significant event and the agenda of activities that will further strengthen the bonds between these two localities.

 

 

Agenda of Activities:

More than 40 entrepreneurs from Barranquilla gathered with their counterparts from Doral and its surroundings at the Doral Police Training and Community Center for the Business Meeting on Wednesday. This event aims to foster business collaboration and explore new business opportunities.

On Thursday afternoon, August 17, on the MAU campus, the I Symposium on Educational Internationalization and Academic Mobility took place. In a live Zoom broadcast, representatives from educational institutions such as the Universitaria de Barranquilla, Universidad Simón Bolívar, and the Dr. Amin Ariza Educational Corporation, along with the Millennia Atlantic University (MAU) from Doral and Lingua Language Center, signed collaboration agreements and scholarships for future students.

On the same Thursday night, Doral City Hall became a stage for culture and art, where the “AMBASSADORS OF ART” group, composed of professional artists, sculptors, and photographers, presented an exhibition symbolizing the brotherhood between the two cities. Additionally, the Barranquilla Carnival in Miami, accompanied by the “Millo “Son Curramba” group, the Vallenato King Sergio Luis Rodriguez, and the Revelation Artist of the brotherhood, Gabi Granados, brought this cultural night to life.

On the third and final day, Friday, August 18: In an open Council plenary on the third floor of Doral City Hall, a governmental meeting was held with elected officials from the city and the highest authorities from Barranquilla. During this event, outstanding figures in business, cultural, and artistic fields were recognized. Likewise, ambassadors of the sister cities were designated with the highest distinction: a Crystal symbol representing the deep ties between Barranquilla and Doral.

Message of Unity and Collaboration:

The commemoration of these eight years of brotherhood between Doral and Barranquilla reaffirms the commitment of both cities to foster collaboration in educational, business, tourism, and cultural areas. The presence of mayors Christi Fraga and Jaime Pumarejo, as well as vice mayors Rafael Pineyro and Alfredo Carbonell, along with the Government of Atlántico and the participation of Governor Elsa Noguera, underscores the importance of these relationships. This celebration strengthens the bond between the two communities and promotes mutual exchange and cooperation.

This exciting encounter between the cities of Doral and Barranquilla highlights the importance of collaboration, culture, and unity in strengthening international ties.
