“So, the title called “Liberate.” To lead, huh? I like it. Over time, I’ve started to understand more. They say maturity comes with all this wisdom and with all that measure of learning and how to ground it. It has given me something more, much more clarity actually on the importance of how I, by leading myself, can be a better channel for all the people around me and all those who are part of my life and my professional strategy.


Let’s start and talk during this period of reflection about that life project, that invitation I am making for us to analyze it from a great beginning. And I end with a story. Today it’s my own story because I love to share personalized experiences, I love being able to speak up here and tell you: “I lived it, I did it, I loved it, and it was a lived experience, huh, that has an important ingredient, and it is that it makes me feel calm that what I am communicating is something truthful and not just something that I have read”, although literature and everything I do have important information.


But when you live it from here inside, from the heart and the guts, it has an important intrinsic value. So that life project is. And that process starts from an early age, where the truth is that we also invite having that awareness, to create awareness about that building, building with solid foundations from the bottom, from when we start, huh, with awareness to build.


And when we talk about building, it is about raising foundations, because we can also talk about building when we are talking about another person and we are telling them all their strengths and we are empowering that person. The importance of planting, the importance of us being, huh, huh, watering every day, it is a process and that process truly is something wonderful, because it is a personal process of each one.


No process is the same as another; all processes are different. Each process has stages of building, planting, visiting, and harvesting, right? And that harvest is very beautiful when you have lived the process from the heart, with the best intention and purpose. That life project, when we need to mold and shape it, suddenly, like a sculpture, begins to be shaped, because sometimes things have their moment and we will see this more explicitly later.


The changes we must implement, those habits or routines, or strategies or ways to do things differently, and the big changes that come with big decisions. So, this makes up an important compendium of that life project that, when we analyze it, makes us feel very proud of our journey. All the learning and experience that we have gone through at the milestones, which we also emphasize, we give no importance to and it is so that we have even more clarity before starting in the story, because really the invitation is to a story today and those markers perfectly mark us throughout the journey. What are the principles, right? These principles that come from the family, from birth, the values, education, all the learning, the journey from kindergarten, school, university, and everything else that we have been able to do in our journey, including sports which play an important part in young people today.


In our time it was different, but nowadays the importance of sports is very recognized, and we, the coaches, see it with much admiration. These young athletes have a different level of commitment, right? Because they are young people who pursue goals with well-defined purposes. In my story, there are very beautiful eyes that have also marked wonderful things, the habits we implement and how we shape and change the environment and the social circle positively influence everyone.


So, these markers in the theme of the life project begin to integrate into that great bag of life development, in that great world of development and the life project, and they mark something important. When we do the analysis, we start to do like a checklist and see how all those markers positively influenced our life development. When talking about “Liberate to Lead,” we will look at the characteristics and strengths of an effective leader.


And what should an effective leader have? Vision, right? A vision of where they are going? Northward? How is it directed? Where do they want to get to? Empathy with people. How can I relate? How can I truly have that closeness with everyone around me, that integrity that…? We have very beautiful experiences in all the developments we do in the Andes, especially at the business level, with the issue of integrity, right?


Because we define integrity very basically as that which you do, whether you are alone or accompanied, you will continue to do it the same way. That integrity marks a lot within an effective leader because people will follow you for that, because they believe in you because they see that what you are doing is always coherent and congruent, adaptable to different ways of life and processes, right?


Because life takes many turns, because situations change, because people have different mindsets because situations arise unexpectedly and how I have the ability to adapt to all these situations, that ability to inspire so that you listen to me and say: “I love it, I want to do that, I’m going to follow it,” or simply I will reflect on that part of myself because that person inspired me through their story, their concepts, their experiences, whatever it may be.


But it inspired me to be effective in decision-making. It’s very important for a human being to have the ability to make a decision because making decisions is not so simple. Making decisions involves an entire setup behind it that gets disrupted, regardless of whether the decision is small or big. But decisions and changes always bring wonderful things, huh?


The ability to positively influence is crucial. How can I positively influence all the people I face? How can I reach a team, a group, and truly influence through my concepts, my experiences, my knowledge, and my learning? And how, through that, can I promote the growth and personal development of teams?


I’ve been working with teams in network marketing for 30 years and have held roles both in corporate and in the integration of networks. We have impressively lived this because network marketing has a constant influx of people coming in, some stay and others leave. But we have all this very clear because we live it every day.


And the last point, oh, well, team development? When we develop teams, we deal with unique and unrepeatable beings; everyone is different and each one contributes something. That’s the part of the effective leader. There are three important points for leading: inspiration.


How do I manage to impact and inspire the team? How do I motivate the team and how do I guide them? This is how I excite them, guide them, inspire them and we move forward. Life is full of shortcuts and detours. Are we speeding down that highway of life, right? Sure, we’re speeding and suddenly, a detour.


Or worse, a landslide like in Colombia, where sometimes it takes two or three days to clear it, and one in the frenzied race of life because you have to make it, because you have to get on the plane because you have to do it. And it turns out you have a boat. Right, exactly. Or when you go to an appointment and you’re just on time and the bridge is going to lift, as it happens here, or when the train is going to pass and all those things, detours of stop, do not park here, do not do this.


That is life. And sometimes these detours last years and sometimes those traffic lights are neither red nor green, they are flashing yellows. Where do I go? Is it happening? Is it this way or that way? What a lot of difficulties, of stops, of every man for himself, of detours, and indecisions there have been. But in the end, when you get there ahead, the road continues because it will never stop.


But now I feel much stronger, with more patience and measure.


And what are we aiming for? Goals. But the goals must be measurable, precise, and tangible. For example, I can say that I want to buy a four-bedroom house with a pool and fruit trees, but where, when, how? It’s not enough to just imagine it, since we all imagine wonderful things every day.


I need to have measurable goals. I want to be a coach, a wellness coach. What will I specialize in? Managing emotions, nutrition, or will I be an all-around coach? How will I do it? In what will I specialize? And so, that goal starts to take shape.


But it has to be measurable, right? Because I want to be a wellness coach specializing in the physical, spiritual, emotional, and sports aspects, but that can’t happen overnight; it might take months or years. So, that goal must be measurable and precise. I want to be a coach, but what kind of coach?


A life coach. A wellness coach or what else? It must be tangible because I want to be a coach, but to be certified. I have tools, then. Also, it has to be achievable. I want to specialize in coaching at Harvard. I can go, I can do it. I have the resources. See? So I’m going to start. I’ll begin at university, be closer, and gradually climb, outlining a project.


Goals are part of that leading, of leading ourselves. Now I’ll tell you a little about the story of this coach who started her fast-paced career very young. Different things happen to each of us. I got married at 20 and by 23 I had two children. I was a business administrator but didn’t work outside, I looked after the kids, always with leadership present, always managing many things.


I was president of the golf committee at the club so the kids could play, and there I began to strengthen and understand the importance of managing groups. While at golf, I had to manage the kids’ teams and then I got to lead some of the club’s important tournaments. I began to realize all those strengths, that beautiful story.


But of course, in a tremendous fast-paced career life. Because when you are young you deserve everything. When you are young you want everything. When you are young you don’t have space to do things step by step, but you want everything, now. A significant health issue emerged that required a total pause in many of my activities and facets of my life and that’s when things started to be left pending, because I couldn’t, because of the kids. After all, I was married, because, because, because, and so they remain.


But they are always here, in the subconscious, and suddenly, with maturity, you start realizing; come the studies, the certifications, the work in the network marketing where you meet tons of people every day, where you see stories that are a reflection of your own life and where one day you are fine and the next, not.


Suddenly, you realize that life is passing by, that the years are accumulating, that the children are growing up, that problems are changing, and that decisions must be made, but how scary, how daunting. But, what about the comfort zone? How am I going to do it? And the pending issues? There they are, making an impact, because they do make an impact.


If you don’t pursue them, they won’t allow it. One comes to this world to fulfill a mission, and you fulfill that mission before leaving this world. That is documented and written, especially if one has it clear and coded. Well, but before that, then it arrives. I have always worked under the premise of raising awareness.


So, if I do it, if I believe it, if I’m executing it, then I’m going to do it. And then all that starts to work, to evolve and to change. I began to see life differently, with different teams, not from the concept of the company, the corporation, nor from the seminars and all those things in which I was always involved.


And I have said, that is finally what we have to follow, what we are passionate about, right? I was going to tell you that, amidst all that unfolding, two things happened. I had a mother who was supremely skilled with crafts and always told me, “When you get older, you need to have something to do with your hands.” I thought they taught sewing and everything at school, but no. When I did my last job as an executive, which was a national sales manager of a large company, the day I left there, I said, “I want to learn to make a craft that was those refined cheese boards.”


Where do I go? Then I called an elderly lady who I knew did crafts and she took me to a place where I learned to make them and I want to tell you that it became important in my life. After living on a plane, traveling, and attending conferences, I wanted to do different things and there began the great change.


That was in 2012 and I became an expert. Then, I thought of making a combination of everything and continued, and continue, to be a coach in Integral Wellness, giving lectures, offering talks, holding Zoom sessions, and connecting with people. I conduct personalized coaching sessions, all virtually, because the pandemic made everything go virtual, right?


Upon arriving in that country, I was certified as a Realtor, another tool. So, I also work as a Realtor for Terra. I am a silver leader at Terra and I have three tools that I have acquired. I have been with them for nine years as a member of the networks because that was what I promised myself.


Someday I will make a network marketing because network marketing makes money, but the key to all this is to have a firm purpose. I am in the United States, I need tools, I need to be able to do that checklist. I have taken care of children, and I have driven for Uber, which has been magical. I’ve done it all and I think I can do many more things because I want to show people that it can be done, but I want to tell it because I did it, not because I imagine it. And yes, you can make money and live very well doing different things.


But see how you’re going to do that. If you’re good, that’s very important. That’s what I want to do.


I am passionate, I have talent, and I can do it. I meet wonderful people. That’s the key. It’s the purpose. And that purpose is very clear to me. Total commitment. When I’ve driven for Uber, I set out to work six hours a day and you can make $150 in six hours, and you know you enjoy it and see different people.


You’re good. Yes, but that’s a form of work and perseverance is very beautiful. Every day there’s a purpose, a line to follow because if you don’t do it with perseverance, consistency, unity, and commitment, every time you stop you have to start again and it’s tough to maintain consistency and intention.”
