The Associate of Science degree program in Healthcare Administration and Management is 60 semester hours in duration and is divided three modules. The first module consists of 15 semester credit hours of general education. The coursework in the general education module is designed to be broad-based and consists of coursework in areas such as the social sciences, mathematics, English, and psychology. The second module is made up of 21 semester credit hours that provide a core of business management courses that are required for all students. This module provides a strong emphasis in management, business law, ethics, and human relations, among other business related areas of study. The third module covers the more narrowly defined area of Healthcare Administration and Management. This module consists of 24 semester credit hours and includes coursework that focuses on medical and pharmaceutical terminology, anatomy and physiology, healthcare law and finance, and long-term managed care.
